Advancing Access and Excellence

The Maine Birth Center Association brings together birth center owners, staff, and supporters to strengthen and sustain birth centers across the state. Together, we advocate for policies that protect community birth, share resources, and promote access to safe, family-centered care for Maine families.

MBCA is a collective working together to ensure that birth centers remain an accessible, sustainable, and respected part of Maine’s maternity care landscape.

We believe that families deserve safe, family-centered options for where and how they give birth; and that birth centers deserve a strong, unified voice in shaping the future of community birth in our state.

Our Purpose

MBCA exists to:

  • Advocate for policies and regulations that protect and strengthen community birth in Maine

  • Create a network of mutual support for birth center teams and stakeholders

  • Provide education, collaboration, and resource-sharing across the birth center community

  • Promote public awareness of birth centers as a safe, evidence-based, family-centered option
